HypeBeast: Classic 9 Motorwerks Is Bringing Its Porsche C9 RS Turbo to Amelia Island

Classic 9 Motorwerks is bringing its Porsche C9 RS Turbo project to Amelia Island. Along with renderings of a new 914 project

Staying true to Classic 9 Motorwerks’ ethos, the build maintains a form that’s true to the original design, yet sees a perfect balance between modern technology and the removal of the superfluous — how much can be removed or added to achieve the ultimate analog driving experience.

Classic 9 Motorwerks requires the client to use their existing chassis from the years 1969 to 1988 where the entire car is disassembled, stripped to bare metal, treated for rust prevention, and then reconstructed with strategic reinforcement points. The nose is then enhanced with the flared fenders and the relocation of the front turn signals under the headlights. The car also sees a custom front air dam with an integrated oil cooler, a redesigned rear bumper, new taillights, and a rear ring that a cross between the signature ducktail and the whale tail of the ’70s.

Powering the car is a 3.0 liter turbo engine that puts out 420 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque at 2,300 rpm. It has been optimally tuned by iSystems and features Mahle pistons, ITBs, a MoTeC ECU, and a custom ceramic coated exhaust system.

On top of the C9 RS Turbo, Classic 9 Motorwerks is also presenting its renders and plans for its newest build — the 914. This future project is looking to make 300 horsepower with a 3.4-liter engine, and is based on the 914-6 GT. The current list of upgrades includes a MoTeC ECU, 5-speed manual transmission with LSD, ITBs, Boxster brake calipers, Bilstein sport suspension, LED lighting, and 15×8/15×9 classic minilite wheels.
